FILM – Scandinavian Film Festival – 23-31 July – Palace – Preview

Palace are proud to present Adelaide audiences with a brand new event, showcasing 21 films from the region, created to offer a dedicated focus to an area of screen culture that has for too long been underrepresented in Australia.

KIDS THEATRE PREVIEW – The Cranky Bear – From 4 Aug

Leading South Australian children’s theatre company, Patch Theatre, continue their leadership position in producing inspirational new work for 4-8 year olds with the creation of their latest work Cranky Bear based on the best-selling children’s picture book The Very Cranky Bear by Australian author and illustrator Nick Bland.

CABARET FESTIVAL – The New Score – 2.5K

What was promised was ‘the world’s greatest songs re-mixed and reimagined’ but disappointingly the two hour plus show delivered a whole lot less than that. 2.5K

CABARET FESTIVAL – Johanna Allen – 4.5K

Funny, charming, sexy, at times sombre but also uplifting, this is one excellent show, a highlight of the entire Festival. 4.5K

CABARET FESTIVAL – Colin Hay – 4K

This was a fine 90 minutes of entertainment and certainly Colin Hay is a survivor still very much on top of his game. 4K

CABARET FRINGE FESTIVAL – Exposing Edith – 4K

For all lovers of French music, Piaf and her life Exposing Edith is certainly one sparrow that flies. 4K

CABARET FESTIVAL – Melanie – 4.5K

While the long flowing blonde hair and the youthful face of her generation have somewhat dissipated, the Melanie of hope, love and fun was strong as ever at the Playhouse last night. 4.5K

CAB FEST – Variety Gala – 3.5K

The Adelaide Cabaret Festival warms the town’s winter hearts and minds like no other and 2014 looks like being no exception to the cracking pace that has been set in recent years for the event. 3.5K

CAB FRINGE FEST – Exposing Edith – Preview

Exposing Edith, a 2014 Cabaret Fringe Festival standout that tells the extraordinary story of Edith Piaf and leaves the audience to decide for themselves who she really was.

THEATRE – Master Harold…. and the Boys – 4.5K

This play stands or falls on the player cast as Hallie and young Benji Riggs rises to the occasion supremely. 4.5K
