2014 ADELAIDE CABARET FESTIVAL – Melanie To Kick It Off

The Adelaide Cabaret Festival and David M. Hawkins are thrilled to announce that legendary singer- songwriter Melanie Safka is making her long awaited return to Australian shores this June with her People In The Front Row Tour.

FESTIVAL – Unsound Adelaide – Snowtown: Live – Town Hall – 5K

When you line up last year’s fairy floss 2001 Space Odyssey music night at the Festival Theatre and this, Snowtown: Live was a triumph and a real Festival highlight. 5K

FRINGE – A Nightmare on Love Street – Gluttony – 3.5K

If horror films are your thing and especially if you can’t stop watching the classics, then A Nightmare on Love Street may very well be your late night Fringe fix this year. 3.5K

FRINGE – Light Camera Action – The Soul Box – 2.5K

The show is slick and enthusiastically hosted but the results were often a little underwhelming. 2.5K

FRINGE – Jack Druce – Tuxedo Cat – 4K

This is a funny show and you will thoroughly enjoy your hour under Jack’s spell. 4K

Fringe – Twisted Lollipop – 3K

FRINGE – Hallelujah – Soul Box – 4K

As a Cohen fan, you remain unsure if this will be for you? Then consider that for a middle aged crowd I have never seen such a focus on two performers, to the exclusion also of random visits to the bathroom by partners looking to kill the time. 4K

FESTIVAL – The Seagull – STC Scenic Workshop – 4.5K

All in all this is a creative and superbly produced and performed play. This Seagull soars. 4.5K

FRINGE – Summer of Blood – Bakehouse – 3.5K

The Summer of Blood is schlock unplugged, a gory visit to the entrails of a genre that otherwise needs no introduction. 3.5K
