FRINGE – Tony Roberts – The Gambler – The Cupola, Garden – 2.5k

‘The Gambler’ isn’t the best show you will see at the Fringe, and needs some work to improve the continuity of the show and avoid some of the lengthy pauses while Tony sets up his next trick. However, it’s impossible to deny that Tony is phenomenal at what he does. 2.5K

FRINGE – The Beast – Stuart Bowden – Tuxedo Cat – 3K

‘The Beast’ is a beautiful, touching story presented competently and making for a wonderful foray into the Fringe. 3K

FESTIVAL – Instructions for an Imaginary Man – Adelaide Gaol – 3.5K

Theatre that truly removes you from one’s comfortable world and places you in that of the production is rare and this aspect was a triumph. However, more attention to the needs of the audience may have helped round out a most emotive experience. 3.5K

FRINGE – The Axis of Awesome World Tour 2006 – 4K

Mixing the usual great banter with much loved favourites and some new, the Axis of Awesome offer safe and enjoyable fare for those who have seen them before and a treat for first timers. 4K

SOUNDWAVE ADELAIDE 2012 – IMAGES

FRINGE – The Ballad of the Unbeatable Hearts – CIT – Higher Ground – 4.5K

Whilst this revewer generally eschews the use of the word ‘important’ when attached to theatre or movies, the Ballad of the Unbeatable Hearts is one exception worth making. 4.5K

FRINGE – Dr Brown Brown Brown – The Kid’s Show – The Garden – 4K

Desirable for children three to seven or eight years of age, this physical comedy will delight, with plenty for parents to smile about as well. 4K

FRINGE – A Doll’s House – Nexus – 1.5K

Other than for a few numbers, I found the rest to be a bit of a dull cat walk and false strip show.

FRINGE – Ladies In Waiting – Higher Ground – 4.5K

This piece is definitely a hit, with anyone who has a mother, sister, friend or lover able to very much relate to many of these thoughts that run through these ladies’ minds. 4.5K
