RAW: John Waters – Her Majesty’s – 4K

Waters is a treasure and any lover of midnight / off the wall cinema of whatever age ought to take him in.

RAW: Holding the Man – State Theatre Company – Dunstan Playhouse until Nov 13 – 5K

Holding the Man manages to achieve that highly sort after balance between uproarious comedy and intense drama. Under the direction of Rosalba Clemente, it has you laughing uncontrollably at one point and fighting back tears at another. 5K

RAW: Beauty and the Beast – Northern Light Theatre Company – Until Oct 29

Overall this is a pleasing, quality production of a musical that will be very dear to many. It was a fun way to spend three hours, revisiting a childhood love.

RAW: Sexual Perversity in Chicago – Accidental Productions – Bakehouse Til 5th November

This is fine Adelaide theatre that can be enjoyed by all without having to camp out the night in Angas Street to do so.

RAW: The Mikado – G & S Society – Scott Theatre until Oct 29

This is another impressive offering from the G&S Society, who continue to produce high quality shows, featuring the work of very talented local artists. Fans of G&S will no doubt lap this production up.

RAW: Life After George – Stirling Players – Til 22 Oct

One can only hope that Professor George gets his act together a whole lot better as the season progresses but the work of the first three ladies in his life is worth the visit.

RAW That Face – five.point.one – Bakehouse – 3.5K

With highly efficient staging, fivepointone have done it again with a modern work that tears the fabric of our society in front of eyes (like those of Hugh) that would most often prefer to not to see. 3.5K

RAW: Richard III – AC Arts – 4K

All up, this a worthy rendition of Richard III, with abundant young talent on show in the cast and the crew. Terry Crawford needs to be congratulated for the production and Matilda Bailey needs to be added to any theatre goers’ watch list for the future.

RAW: OzAsia – continent by CAVA – Space Theatre

This years OzAsia Festival sure has had some special treats lined up such as this brilliant performance “continent” by the Japanese mime company CAVA.
