RAW: Denim @ The Birdcage
Feb 19th
Denim is one of those beautifully awkward performances for those unintiated to dance. Why awkward? Because you want to clap, cheer and gasp in awe, but you can’t do so without ruining the mood and flow of this well crafted acrobatic\dance piece. Sit back and just enjoy the human body performing some powerful feats. Then make sure you cheer and clap like nuts at the end. Well done to all involved.

RAW: Katie Noonan and the Captains @ The Gov Friday 18th Feb 2010
Feb 19th
Katie has one of those distinctive voices that you can almost instantly recognise. From her early days in George to dabbling in dance and classical styles more recently, Katie has found a great middle ground with her new band The Captains.
Her voice is as beautiful as ever with a high register that just sounds flawless live. The band are extremely talented and she seems to have this ability to bring together some of Australia’s best. On the night she performed songs written with Sia, Josh Pyke and even Tim Finn…she has so many cool musical friends! She shares fun stories and seems more comfortable than ever on stage.
At the moment she isn’t playing her classic “hits”, but the songs here are like her cream of the crop from her career that she never got the chance to release – you can tell she really cares about these new songs. If you get a chance to see them, make sure you check out the next big phase in her career – Katie Noonan and The Captains.
