LISA MITCHELL ‘SPIRITUS EP’
It’s been just under three years since Lisa released her debut platinum-selling album Wonder, embarking on a non-stop touring schedule including international tours with Mumford & Sons, her own headline tours and an inspired set at UK’s legendary Glastonbury festival performing alongside Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen and Nick Cave.
The single Spriritus, which is Latin for ‘breath’ and ‘Life force’ was written at Lisa’s parents’ home in the country. This EP is the lead up to her forthcoming album to be released later in 2012.
Lisa will be touring the country this June as a part of the ‘Heavenly Sounds’ tour, playing in some of the country’s most beautiful churches and cathedrals with her band and supporting choir.
SILVERSUN PICKUPS ‘NECK OF THE WOODS’
Silversun Pickups (Aubert, Guanlao, bassist/vocals Nikki Monninger and keyboardist Joe Lester) have sold over one million records worldwide. Their first EP, Pikul, was released in 2005 and whilst it hinted at great things to come, no one was quite prepared for the explosion of the band’s debut LP, Carnavas. Released in 2006, Carnavas was the #1 Alternative and Independent record for four consecutive weeks in the USA.
In 2009, Silversun Pickups followed up with the equally powerful Swoon, the record debuted at #7 on the Billboard Top 200 and was in the chart for over 22 weeks on the strength of the #1 Modern Rock smash, Panic Switch. In Australia, Swoon peaked at #14 on the national ARIA album chart and claimed the coveted feature album position on triple j.
